STEP 1
Initial Meeting
A free of charge, no obligation initial meeting, either on your site or virtually. The aim of this meeting is for me to understand your business and objectives and your current systems, and for you to understand resources and steps involved and ask any further questions. It is also an opportunity for you to assess whether I am the right consultant for you and your business.
STEP 2
Gap Assessment
If required, a full gap-assessment of your business against the BRCGS standard. A gap assessment can be a bruising experience because it looks for non-conformance rather than conformance, but it helps us both understand the needs of your business in more detail, and results in a focused plan for support to achieve BRCGS certification.
STEP 3
Implementation
Development of a BRCGS compliant product safety and quality management system working alongside your management team and providing training on all elements of the standard to support implementation. I will help you to complete risk assessments, reviews, traceability tests, trend analyses, internal audits and mock recalls to generate records of compliance to the standard. The system provided is intuitive to navigate and organised to help you find any information you need quickly.
STEP 4
Certification
I will help you to choose a certification body, manage your audit preparations and attend the initial audit to support and guide you to present evidence of compliance to the auditor. In the unlikely event of any non-conformances, I will help you to complete root cause analysis and corrective actions and respond to the certification body to ensure that certification is awarded.
STEP 5
Maintenance
If required, acting as your site internal auditor and HARA / HACCP team leader, I can support the maintenance of your certification through conducting internal audits, keeping you on track with regular verification activities, and providing support with any customer, product or supplier issues that arise. I will keep you well informed with horizon scanning, BRCGS position statements and any changes to the BRCGS standard and will manage and attend re-certification audits.
Most importantly, I will ensure that you are fully up to date and prepared for BRCGS mandatory unannounced audits.
BRCGS Support
With the multitude of ever-changing standards and regulations that businesses must meet, over time Product Safety and Quality Management Systems can become complicated, time-consuming to manage and a perceived hindrance to operations and supply chain flexibility.
An independent evaluation of your PSQMS can reinvigorate, simplify and streamline your operational and supply chain quality processes. BRCGS Consultant supports sites to simplify complex PSQMS systems at mature sites, conduct BRCGS gap and pre-assessments to assess compliance, reduce risk, improve product safety and identify opportunities for improvement.
A simplified QMS provides a framework to support your entire supply chain to consistently manufacture and handle safe product of the required quality, at optimum cost, whilst ensuring due diligence is maintained, regulatory and customer standards are met, and product safety and compliance risks are effectively monitored and managed.
